The Role
Sefaira is looking for talented software engineers to join us in our effort to build the greatest software for helping architects design buildings with best-of-class sustainability performance.
We are looking for someone with outstanding core skill in programming, program design, and testing, as well as a strong ability to engage in open-minded technical debates. A great candidate will likely have significant expertise programming in some bleeding-edge language (Scala, JavaScript (the Good Parts), Racket, Haskell, etc). We are looking for someone who knows how to push to and monitor code in production (AWS, Heroku), and is excited to learn new techniques, languages and tools (functional programming, MongoDB, Node.js).
Once you arrive at Sefaira, you should be ready to learn about how architects work and how building energy analysis is done. If you have experience developing for the web, great, we will put it to use. Any experience iterating on a customer-facing product will find uses as well.
Though the people with the skill we are looking for are likely to have Computer Science higher-ed degrees, we will consider all applications based on demonstrated coding ability. For instance, we will be happy to take into consideration your online portfolio of open source contributions.
Our team is small and each person is expected to work across the stack. The development team works collaboratively with each other across disciplines, product management, architects and mechanical engineers. The work is iterative and responsive to changing priorities. We strive to go from idea to production fast.
Every member of the team is expected to collaborate with others in the organization, come up with new ideas and promote them within the organization, have high quality standards, and to get stuff shipped to our customers that will change the way they and the industry at large designs buildings.
