We are building brand new platform primarily in Scala on the server-side. For our web-apps, we largely develop rich front-ends using JavaScript and tools like AngularJS and use node.js for building restful APIs. We integrate into MySQL and MongoDB databases, as well as numerous http based services and our continuous delivery infrastructure. We exclusively use AWS for our infrastructure needs.

Responsibilities:
- Evangelize Destination Experiences’ technology, products, and brand value
- Work closely with product managers, developers, testers and other cool folks within Destination Experiences to design and build a technologically superior platform to deliver on our mission
- Write code… lots of it
- Actively participate in code-reviews for code written personally as well as code written by others
- Create accurate, consistent and reproducable documentation
- Mentor junior software developers
- Work closely with product management to understand sprint backlog items
- Interact closely with the DevOps team to understand physical deployment and product release procedures
- Key contributor to continuous process improvement across all of Destination Experiences and Expedia, Inc.
