The SGC is the world's leader in developing chemical tools and solving the structures of proteins associated with Human health. Building upon and extending the current Drupal platform (www.thesgc.org) which hosts our global and local sites, we need a skilled and highly motivated Web Developer to help ensure hat our output has the maximum impact for the discovery of new medicines.

But it's not just about keeping the web site up to date and providing a compelling and immersive experience. The SGC's diverse data types and high quality data provide an usually rich, fertile and unique environment for the development of novel tools using diverse and cutting-edge technologies. This has already resulted in platforms such as iSee (http://www.thesgc.org/iSee) which deliver data to the scientific community in a cutting-edge manner, as well as in-house tools for critical cross-site data sharing.

We'll expect you to drive similar developments in a rapid fashion, allowing our scientists to maximise their time as well as communicate their results with the rest of the world. You'll work with SGC scientists from all sites around the world to develop novel and cutting-edge data capture, dissemination and visualisation tools as web-based applications both for internal and external use. Day to day interaction with key external informatics collaborators will also occur with an opportunity to drive the development of new software technologies in this context.
