Location: Boston preferred but San Francisco might be an option
Description: We are looking for a junior Ruby on Rails developer to join our small but growing in-house development team and collaborate with our larger team of award winning design and development partners. From day one, you will be a principal developer on several fast moving, leanly managed web projects, implementing interactive front-ends and designing and building back-end solutions managing terabytes of data.
- Codebase - Our codebase is all new, test-driven, and super clean. To date we have been working with the best developers from thoughtbot (http://thoughtbot.com) to augment our team and build our products.
- Recent Project - PUC Portal: http://pucportal.aee.net - Public Utility Commissions (PUCs) around the country regulate over $100 billion of energy investments each year. To clarify the complex, high-stakes world of state energy regulation, the PUC Portal gives users insight into the key players and energy infrastructure in each state, as well as how states compare to one another.
- In Development - National Energy Regulation Tracker - We are building an application that, for the first time, will allow an industry stakeholder or the public to follow and participate in the regulatory process, serving up over 2 million files with a lightening fast Google App Engine based API and a Ruby on Rails/Backbone.js front end.
