We're building the first online lending marketplace that uses non-traditional variables like education, test scores, and job trajectory to predict income and default rates better than any financial institution in the world. Here's a taste of some of our challenges: 1) Building a real-time pricing engine that uses machine learning and large datasets to find the best borrowers and give them the rates they deserve, using factors that no other company uses. 2) Creating a massive online lending marketplace that allows investors to invest on equal footing with multi-million $ institutional investors. 3) Engineering performant and reliable financial backend systems that move millions of dollars. Our stack is Ruby on Rails, and our database is Postgres. There's a dash of MongoDB and Redis, and Angular on the frontend.
