DEPARTMENT
The Society of Grownups is a Masters Program for Adulthood. It’s a venue where you can learn all sorts of things: how to handle your finances, appreciate wine, deal with work issues, buy a home, save for retirement, or start a business. Most importantly, though, it teaches you how to keep your soul and sense of adventure along the way.
We’re opening our physical space this fall, where we’ll host classes, offer financial advice, provide a coffee bar and lots more. Once our doors open, we’ll also be doing something many companies have tried and none have done well: giving financial advice online. The Society of Grownups website will be a portal into your financial future and a resource for your social present-day.
We’re a small team and we’re going to move fast. Our web applications will connect our members’ experiences within the Society venue to our next-generation financial planning backend. We think we can make a better mousetrap, and we’re looking for engineers who believe in our vision and have the technical aptitude to get us there.
Job Summary:
The Society of Grownups is developing web-based software to give online financial advice to our members. The core of our application is our financial dashboard, where users can explore their finances and learn how best to plan for their future. As our visualization and user interface specialist you will lead the development of this dashboard, building interactive visualizations to effectively communicate the output from our financial planning back-end. You will be a core member of our small engineering team, also collaborating with our product owners and interaction designer to maintain and enhance the Society’s web applications.
COMPENSATION:
We pay competitive base salaries and we reward performance. Our salary structure is commensurate with experience. In addition, you will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits program including medical insurance and 401(K).
