Originate is a unique Venture firm. We operate very similar to a VC in terms of deal flow, investment selection, etc, but instead of investing cash, we build software. Working at Originate gives people the opportunity to have ownership in many startups (20% of the equity that Originate takes in a venture is shared by everyone working on the project) and we also help employees build their own company through our EIR program. We also engage in joint ventures with enterprise companies helping them innovate like start ups.
We have offices in San Francisco, NYC, LA, Vegas, Sunnyvale, Beijing, and Stockholm. Originate is over 100 entrepreneurial minded software engineers, designers, product specialist and business people and our growth is only limited by the number of incredible people we can add to the crew. We are an engineering company at the core with tech stacks that are 50% Mobile (iOS, and Android) and 50% Web (Scala and RoR).
