Layer3 TV's discoverability team of engineers design user experiences that deliver relevant and compelling content to customers. These experiences are intelligent, aware of users' interests, and high performing. Furthermore all of these features and experiences are available across a wide variety of devices, including set top boxes, tablets and phones. Layer3 TV is hiring software engineers with search and recommendations expertise.
You are a great fit for this role if you have the following skills and experience:
· 3+ years of full lifecycle software development experience
· Experience developing in Lucene, SOLR, ElasticSearch or similar search technologies
· Ability to develop complex algorithms in Big Data systems
· Broad understanding of the application of information retrieval techniques to build scalable personalization systems
· A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data
· Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
· JavaScript and Node.js, or similar scripting languages (PHP, Perl, Python)
· SQL or NoSQL technologies (MySQL, Mongo, ElasticSearch, CouchDB, Cassandra, Hadoop, etc.)
· Proficiency in test driven development methodology
· BS in Computer Science or equivalent
