The Role:
We're looking for a Full Stack JavaScript Engineer to join our team and help us launch the consumer side of our marketplace business. Transparency and visibility are core values for the company as a whole, and we work hard to make sure everyone's voice is heard. While the beauty and wellness space is new for many of us, we all believe in the business need we're solving and are consistently energized by the amazing user stories of how StyleSeat is making lives better every day.
We've previously been focused on building out the supply side of the marketplace, and now we're ready to really drive demand. To that end, we've got a number of meaty projects coming up, including:
* Building a mobile consumer experience for discovery and booking
* Expanding our thick client experience from mobile to the web
* Leveraging the million+ high quality photos our users have uploaded into our consumer social experience
* Ongoing A/B testing and funnel optimization for critical user flows
* Continuing to simplify the business systems UX (= make users lives easier)
* Building a high performance referral program (think Uber and Lyft)
Our Stack:
Our site is written in Python/Django, and we're in the process of building out v2 using Angular.js. (Currently live for our mobile website, and our mobile app coming very soon.) Our site lives on AWS (EC2, RDS, ELB, EC) and we leverage other open technologies like Memcache, RabbitMQ, and Solr. As we move to a thick client web app we'll consider streamlined API backend frameworks (Node.js, Scala/Play). As a whole we're open to whatever technology makes the most sense for our needs and requirements at the time.
What We Offer:
* Competitive base salary.
* Flexibility around working from home when you need to.
* Flexible, non-startup-crazy normal work hours. We've definitely been there, but that's not the phase we're in now. Phew!
* A haircut/massage/shave budget to use StyleSeat.
* Gym membership.
* Streaming music subscriptions.
* Dog friendly office.
Fun team-centered perks like:
* Whiskey of the month club
* Team lunches
* Happy hours every other week
* Regular presentations on what's going on in other departments and lots of visibility into how we're growing as a company and what our plans are.
