Marketing Analytics at Atlassian (Austin, TX)

Do you get excited by the challenge of scaling a fast-growing company by powering it with data, reporting, and analytics? Using your business acumen and technical creativity, you will build tools to automate reporting and generate insights that will allow marketing leaders to quickly and accurately see how our initiatives are performing. We’re growing quickly, so you'll need to define, implement, and scale the systems and processes for delivering data to stakeholders across the marketing organization. Successful candidates for this role have a strong bias towards action and enjoy finding patterns amidst chaos, interfacing with a large and complex group of stakeholders, making quick decisions, and aren’t afraid of being wrong.


What You’ll Do



  • Use your knowledge of Hive, SQL, Excel, and various data visualization programs to drive insights and develop recommendations for marketing leaders

  • Interface directly with marketing leads, leveraging behavioral data from customers and products to drive action and business strategy

  • Conceptualize, build, and support self-serve and automated solutions for data collation to scale the team’s impact long-term

  • Conduct ad hoc data analysis based on business needs, while acting as a partner to operational and marketing teams across the org

  • Partner with IT, product, and engineering teams in the development of more robust reporting and analytics systems

  • Be a strong thought partner within marketing team contributing relevant experience to expand insights across the organization

  • Distill highly complex analytical projects and concepts into concise and easily consumable language


What You've Done



  • Demonstrated success in driving action through analytics presentations to departmental or company leadership

  • Highly motivated and passionate about interfacing with many different teams, with an innate intellectual curiosity

  • Demonstrated success collating, visualizing, and presenting complex research data (qualitative and quantitative) sourced from large data sets

  • Strong critical thinker with demonstrated ability to follow through on execution and procure the necessary resources to ensure project completion

  • Knowledge of online marketing tactics (SEO, SEM, Display, Email Marketing, Social, Content Marketing)

  • Fluency in SQL and some modeling skills. Comfortable in command line/terminal.

  • Preferred experience in at least one scripting language (Python, JS, etc.)

  • Preferred experience with packages such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.

  • Analytical and data driven with a determination to lead best practice, rather than follow, balanced with pragmatism and a desire to get things done

  • 2-7 years related experience in an ad tech, web development, consulting, or reporting and analytics trenches

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred: quantitative disciplines such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, or information systems). Advanced degrees preferred
