SpotHopper is an app built to answer the questions “where should I go out?” and “what drink should I order when I get there?” Recognizing that everyone’s taste in bars, beer, wine, and cocktails is incredibly subjective, SpotHopper allows users to submit powerful personalized search queries, like a light, crisp wheat beer with tropical fruit flavors or a hipster dive bar with craft beer and a patio.
v1 of the app launched in late April and we've been fortunate enough to see thousands of downloads and hundreds of businesses join the SpotHopper platform. Looking forward, our team is focused on pushing the limits of what a local search engine is capable of, using big data and elegant algorithms to learn a user's preferences with a depth that the incumbents simply cannot with tags and saved searches.
