The Amazon Development Centre in London is seeking talented software development engineers to join our growing Amazon Instant Video mobile team. You will be part of a team engineering the most customer centric video playback experience for iPad and iPhone (iOS) globally. Basic Qualifications
You should have a University degree in Computer Science (or equivalent discipline) and most of the following skills:
- A proven track record of building applications in a modern programming language especially Objective-C,
- Deep experience with iOS. Android also a plus.
- Solid understanding of test principles, including TDD,
- Solid understanding of computer science principles,
- Solid understanding and practice of agile development practices,
- Track record in delivering high quality code and driving code quality with your peers.
- Heads down software engineer with the ability to collaborate and finish projects in a timely manner.
- Experience or understanding of video streaming and DRM technologies like Smooth Streaming, HLS, and PlayReady.
- Experience of another modern programming language like Java, C#, C++ or C.
- Experience of web technologies including REST, Javascript, XML, JSON and HTML 5 is also highly desirable.
- Experience of web frameworks such as angular.js, backbone.js is also noteworthy.
