Our Capital Markets client is a major Canadian financial institution that is undertaking the re-architecture of an Enterprise Market and Credit Risk Management system. We are seeking two Senior Core Java/GemFire Capital Markets Developers on a full-time or contractual basis, to work on this exciting and challenging project at the client site.
To land this position you must be an outstanding Core Java programmer; understand software systems at a deep level; have extensive programming experience; and be a proven producer of high-quality Java code. Experience in distributed-cache systems, such as GemFire, is a plus. You must have at least eight years’ experience coding and integrating disparate systems in Enterprise environments, and at least three years in Capital Markets, preferably with knowledge of derivative instruments and market and credit risk analysis. You must be a strong communicator and confident to work closely and efficiently with business domain experts. Your programming culture must be based on Agile, TDD, and Clean Code approaches.
Main Duties
- Develop Java code; integrate with GemFire
- Create Web Service interfaces
- Integrate with databases, web services, and queuing systems
- Interact with business representatives to quickly and efficiently understand the nuances of the system requirements
- Create and maintain unit tests in an Agile, Test-Driven environment
Required Skills and Experience
- 8+ years Java
- 8+ years RDBMS
- 3+ years Capital Markets
- 8+ years Enterprise Programming
- Experience with GemFire or similar enterprise, distributed-cache systems is a plus
- Exposure to market/credit risk systems a strong asset
- Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Outgoing, “get-it-done” attitude
- Mathematical / quantitative analysis skills are an asset
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
