We're looking for a passionate software engineer that loves Javascript (browser-based and Node.js) and has a keen understanding of high performance architectures and technologies. You will be responsible for building products that leverage the latest horizontal scaling solutions such as NoSQL and Node.js. As a full-stack engineer, your duties will include client-side development.
You will have an active role on the transition from .Net to an Open Source stack, using Node.js and Cassandra and other technologies, helping to build the expertise on Node and deliver a solid platform for GoDaddy’s Online Presence products. This Team is responsible for building our new Website Builder including user facing features on a scalable architecture that will impact millions of Small Business owners. The goal is to make this product one of the largest Node.js based applications in the industry over the next few years. The right individual will be self driven. Someone who cares about maintainability of the code, automation, deployment processes and how to enable innovation. They will go beyond just coding and help to shape the engineering culture and best practices here at GoDaddy.
In this role, you will:
- Write and maintain JavaScript code that will be executed on both the browser and Node
- Understand the nuances between browsers and provide advice and guidance to other developers on handling those nuances.
- Be accountable for code quality and writing unit test.
- Be expected to contribute to architectural discussions
- Help and advise in the selection of the most appropriate frameworks to use with the product
- Contribute to Open Source projects related to the tech stack and domain of our products.
- Perform code reviews and participate in suggesting and supporting coding best practices.
